Florida winter part 2

As I stated in my last report spending the winter in Florida is the way to live. Both the backcountry and the flats are loaded with redfish and snook. Having lots of shots daily is common.
I’ll be home soon and because of the weather I’m not looking forward to. My smallmouth calendar is filling. Pitter patter and get your name on it.

Fall, and waiting……

Well we had the arrival of fall and now we wait. With the recently passed rains it bumped the river up too high to fish. Once it drops to fishable levels it’ll be in its normal winter flows, over 5000 cfs until it freezes. All that means is it’s streamer time again. I will continue to run trips on the Kankakee once the flows drop until I head south for the winter.
The 2021 season has been phenomenal And I couldn’t be more thankful for all of you that spend your days with me on the water.
My calendar is open for the 2022 season.

Fall transitions

The leaves are trying to start their annual color show. With the 10 degree water temp change from day to night the fall transitions have begun. River grass has started to let loose. Once you hit the park section of the river it really becomes a problem, clearing of flies or lures every cast. A huge variety of patterns are working, knowing where the fish are is way more important than what they’re eating.

I have a very limited amount of open dates, shoot me a text if you have the last minute itch to get out. (630)886-1964

It’s starting to feel like fall

Finally the humidity is gone and the remaining days of summer are comfortable while floating down the river. The river is in primo shape and fishing great. A huge variety of patterns are working on a day to day basis.

I have only a very small handful of dates open until October left available.

Summers going fast

Apologies, I’ve been too busy to keep up with this like I normally do.
The Kankakee is in great shape despite the rains we had early last week. Normal summer patterns and locations are in full swing. Floating grass is a issue some days and others the river is clear of it.
It’s funny lately looking at the shoreline during the day I w been thinking in just a short month and a half everything will be turn colors. Where did the summer go?
Some of you know there’s been a issue going on in regards to water rights on the Dupage river, take a minute read, get involved! This is a president setting issue in Illinois.
